I’m honored to be included in Chicago Magazine’s 2026 list of Top Cancer Doctors in Chicago, which highlights physicians across the region who are recognized by their peers for excellence in patient care and contributions to medicine.
While individual recognitions are meaningful, they also reflect something much larger. Cancer care is deeply collaborative, and no physician does this work alone. Every day I have the privilege of working alongside dedicated teams of physicians, nurses, researchers, trainees, and healthcare professionals who are committed to improving the lives of patients facing cancer.
A Chicago Oncologist Focused on Patient-Centered Care
As a board-certified hematologist and medical oncologist in Chicago, my clinical work focuses on gastrointestinal cancers, including:
- Colorectal cancer
- Pancreatic cancer
- Neuroendocrine tumors
- Liver cancers
Cancer care involves far more than prescribing treatments. It requires thoughtful communication, shared decision-making, and helping patients and their families navigate complex and often overwhelming information during some of the most difficult moments of their lives.
My goal has always been to combine evidence-based medicine, compassionate care, and clear communication so patients feel informed and supported throughout their cancer journey.
Advancing Cancer Care Through Research and Communication
In addition to clinical care, my work focuses on improving how cancer care is delivered and communicated. I serve as an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Illinois Cancer Center and am involved in clinical research and national conversations around oncology, healthcare communication, and improving systems of care for patients.
Advances in early detection, precision oncology, and patient-centered care continue to transform the field. Being part of that progress—both in caring for patients and helping shape broader conversations about healthcare—is one of the most meaningful aspects of my work.
Gratitude for the Chicago Medical Community
Being named among Chicago’s Top Cancer Doctors is a reflection of the remarkable community of healthcare professionals across the region who are working every day to improve cancer outcomes.
I’m deeply grateful to my colleagues for the recognition and to the patients who trust us with their care.
