Op-Eds and Advocacy

I was invited last month to speak to medical students in the Global Medicine (GMED) Program at the UIC College of Medicine on the ways in which we can use Op-Eds for advocacy. It was a wonderful interactive session with enthusiastic and engaged medical students.  I also did my first FB live, and although it cut off before the end of the session, it was a great way to share the information with those who were not able to attend. I have always enjoyed speaking to students and trainees as we need to continue to have passionate and engaged individuals continue to advocate for change and work towards constantly improving our health care system.
