FOX32: Health officials concerned over potential St. Patrick’s Day celebrations

Dr. Jain spoke w Fox 32 Chicago this am. Key points

🌟 Don’t roll back mask mandates! We are in a race for vaccines in arms before variants spread out of control or new variants arise
🌟 Plan a virtual or distanced #StPatricksDay
🌟 We may see older kids vaccinated by the end of the year. Right now the Pfizer vaccine is available to 16 and older
🌟 Vaccines for kids important but not necessary to reopen schools
🌟 If you had an arm rash after Moderna shot 1 it likely won’t happen after shot 2
🌟 If you are vaccinated you can gather with a few other vaccinated individuals and likely even gather with those vaccinated individuals without a mask. BUT remember we still don’t know if vaccinated ppl can transmit #COVID19 yet so know your risk and other potential exposures. Especially if you live with people who are not vaccinated.
So in summary, please stay masked up a little longer! If we want to reopen our businesses and the economy and keep them open we must double down on things we know work! Wearing a mask. Not gathering indoors.
